Any time Prof. Tom Gavin (fiction) took his glasses off while reading a portion of your story. He’d wear the glasses to read the manuscript and then would peel them off—the glasses, that is. It was a tad dramatic, perhaps, but it gave us a beat or two to re-listen in our minds to what he’d just read, and he’d say, “Now, that’s good writing....”
If he pulled off his glasses for your writing, that was high praise.
